Microneedling (Dermapen)
Experience the rejuvenating power of microneedling with the dermapen, an automated medical device that contains multiple fine needles to create microchannels in the skin.
This micro trauma stimulates the skin to produce new collagen-rich tissue, resulting in a more uniform texture and tone. Microneedling can be combined with other treatments such as platelet-rich plasma, mesotherapy, and exosomes to enhance the visible results. This minimally-invasive procedure can reduce age spots, pigmentation, acne scars, post-trauma or surgical scars, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone.

Depending on your pain threshold, a topical anaesthetic cream may be applied before your treatment. The procedure itself is quick and comfortable, and involves gliding the dermapen over the skin to ensure all areas are covered. The depth of the dermapen needle is determined based on your skin concern and can range from 0.5-3mm. After the procedure, you may experience redness and mild swelling. A serum or soothing cream customised to your skin concern may be applied to the treated area. Some patients see a significant improvement in their skin tone and texture after the first treatment session, with the best results achieved after 2-3 sessions, spaced 3-4 weeks apart.
-
Avoid tanning for 2 weeks prior to the treatment. Your doctor may advise you to use a retinol-based cream to prime the skin 2-3 weeks prior to the treatment, which must be stopped 3 days before the procedure.
-
You may experience minor irritation post-treatment, such as mild peeling of the skin, dryness, itching sensation, or redness. These are temporary and should not cause any discomfort. You may also feel occasional dryness or mild shedding of the dry, dead exfoliated skin post-treatment, which should not last more than 48-72 hours. Avoid any sun exposure for 48 hours and follow the post-care skin routine as advised by your doctor.
